About this product

Product Information

Celebrating 15 years of Flipped-- a classic he-said-she-said romantic comedy This updated anniversary edition offers story-behind-the-story revelations from author Wendelin Van Draanen. The first time she saw him, she flipped. The first time he saw her, he ran. That was the second grade, but not much has changed by the seventh. Juli says: "My Bryce. Still walking around with my first kiss." He says: "It's been six years of strategic avoidance and social discomfort." But in the eighth grade everything gets turned upside down: just as Bryce is thinking that there's maybe more to Juli than meets the eye, she's thinking that he's not quite all he seemed. This is a classic romantic comedy of errors told in alternating chapters by two fresh, funny voices. The updated anniversary edition contains 32 pages of extra backmatter: essays from Wendelin Van Draanen on her sources of inspiration, on the making of the movie of Flipped , on why she'll never write a sequel, and a selection of the amazing fan mail she's received. Awards and accolades for Flipped: SLJ Top 100 Children's Novels of all time IRA-CBC Children's Choice IRA Teacher's Choice Honor winner, Judy Lopez Memorial Award/WNBA Winner of the California Young Reader Medal "We flipped over this fantastic book, its gutsy girl Juli and its wise, wonderful ending." -- The Chicago Tribune "Van Draanen has another winner in this eighth-grade 'he-said, she-said' romance. A fast, funny, egg-cellent winner." -- SLJ, Starred review "With a charismatic leading lady kids will flip over, a compelling dynamic between the two narrators and a resonant ending, this novel is a great deal larger than the sum of its parts." -- Publishers Weekly, Starred review

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • A great book for adolescents!

I absolutely adored this book as a child. It is honestly one of the few books that encouraged me to keep reading when I was little. At the time, I was about eight years old, and I had a mild interest in books. However, after reading this one (as well as the other aforementioned few), my interest intensified greatly, and I have been an avid reader ever since! Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen is an interesting and amusing take on young love. The story is chronicled through a serious of events, retold separately from the perspectives of the main characters Bryce Loski and Juli Baker. It explores the development of their budding relationship and their respective families. When I first read this book, I remember I was really fascinated with how it was written. I found it very creative, and ...

  • he said...she said...

Have you ever thought that the members of the opposite sex has no idea what you are talking about? FLipped is an amazing book that tells us a story we know all too well. BRyce and Julie are neighbors, schoolmates, and get caught in the most akward, hilarious and touching situations as they grow up together. Cleverly told in alternating chapters in a "he said, she said" fashion, Flipped will leave you crying, laughing and utterly nostalgic. Remember, it's all in the interpretation.

  • Surprisingly uncomfortable read . . .

I was reluctant to read this book, simply because the premise seemed gimmicky. Each chapter switches voices. First, the boy narrates the story, from his perspective. Then, the girl tells the same story from her point of view. A friend suggested I try the book, and although it took a few chapters, I throughly enjoyed the book. The characters are complex and well developed, and the plot is subtle. Definitely a must-read for anyone 12 and up!

  • Point of View

This book is well written. It teaches point of view. Things are not always the way you think they are. Others see things differently.
