    Building With Logs by B. Allan Mackie

    I have read a number of other books on log home building even though I have learned much from them I think this may be the best. Mackie doesn't clutter the book with his opnions on chainsaws etc. He gets right down to the meat of building your own home. The chapter on setting the rafters is worth the price of the book. If your looking for a book about building a log home kit this is not for you. But, if your ready to head to the woods, drop some big sticks, and get to building your own home this is all you need.
