Finally, with the help of a few friends who believed in him, the young designer got his first break selling his ties at the famous Bloomingdale's department store. Lauren went on to create one of the most influential fashion houses in history, one that is known for its classic styling. Despite setbacks and difficulties, he changed the way Americans thought about dressing and became a fashion superstar and icon who still influences us today.
