About this product

Product Information

When you gamble with kingdoms, all bets are off. Legends are born in this thrilling and New York Times bestselling spy saga from the fantasy author who is legend herself: Tamora Pierce. Aly is from a family known for great deeds. She is the daughter of Alanna, the famed knight and King's Champion of Tortall. But even though she is bold and brave, like her mother, her true talents lie on her father's side, in the art of spying. When Aly is captured by pirates and sold as a slave to an exiled royal family in the faraway Copper Isles, she strikes a bargain with the trickster god. If she can keep young noblewomen Sarai and Dove safe for the summer, then he will return Aly to her family. The task should be simple, but Sarai and Dove are anything but. It's a time of murderous plotting at court, and Aly will need to rely on her training and the insights of a strange young man named Nawat to survive in a world where trust can cost you your life. "Tamora Pierce's books shaped me not only as a young writer but also as a young woman. She is a pillar, an icon, and an inspiration. Cracking open one of her marvelous novels always feels like coming home." -- SARAH J. MAAS , #1 New York Times bestselling author "Tamora Pierce didn't just blaze a trail. Her heroines cut a swath through the fantasy world with wit, strength, and savvy. Her stories still lead the vanguard today. Pierce is the real lioness, and we're all just running to keep pace." -- LEIGH BARDUGO , #1 New York Times bestselling author

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Very enjoyable, uses different types of life.

This book tells about the daughter of Alanna from the lioness series. She has adventures away from home. I don't remember any romantics in this story for her. But after the noble side of things it is nice to read a story about the less noble people in life. She becomes a slave, and I found it interesting with how she coped with captivity, and servitude. Eventually becoming a member of the royal house. This book kept me up late, I didn't want to put it down.

  • Intriguing!

Pierce really sets us up for excitement in this one! Fascinating and full of surprises. Our heroines are strong and intelligent, skilled and creative. Well-developed characters with diverse and realistic personalities, thoughts, opinions and motivations. Really incredible. LOVED IT!

  • Great book!

My 11 year old loves all the Tortall books! I read them long ago and now to have her read them warms my heart. This one is one of our favorites.
