About this product

Product Information

Racism crushes bodies and souls. In Human Rights and Human Wrongs, Colin Tatz - a world authority on racial conflict and abuse, a key figure in Indigenous Studies in Australia, and an author of major works on genocide, Aboriginal youth suicide, and Aboriginal and Islander sporting achievements - tells his personal story. Born and educated in South Africa, Tatz worked to expose and oppose that nation's centuries-old apartheid regimes before leaving for what he thought would be a more enlightened nation, only to find in Australia striking parallels of that other dismal universe. As a researcher, writer, and activist, he has dedicated his life to confronting what people do to other's on the basis of their race or ethnicity, yet he also relates here how alienation, how his Jewishness, and how an intriguing problem with food have been, for him, propelling forces. Colin Tatz's story - ranging from Southern Africa to Australia, as well as New Zealand, Canada, and Israel - is an important one for all who are genuinely interested in the struggle to achieve social justice for minorities and marginalized peoples. *** "This book successfully engages the reader in the author's engrossing and complex journey from childhood and his lifelong struggles against racism. The narrative touches upon extreme examples of that struggle in the twentieth century. It is scholarly, deeply personal and infused with humanism, warmth and humour." - Dr. Ross Mellick, +61J, May 2015 (Series: Biography) Subject: Autobiography, History, Australian Studies, Jewish Studies, Racial Studies, Human Rights]

Reviews
This is a monumental book: panoptic and finely detailed, where both heart and head successfully work together. It also has the virtue of bringing within easy reach of the reader the terrible consequences of the alienation of one human group from another. - Dr Ross Mellick, review in +61J

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!
