Les proteines ATF7 sont des facteurs de transcription capables d'activer ou de reprimer l'expression d'un certain nombre de genes cibles en se fixant sur leurs promoteurs respectifs. Pour preciser le role d'ATF7 dans les mecanismes d'activation transcriptionnelle, nous avons dans un premier temps analyse sa relation fonctionnelle avec les TAFs, des proteines qui font notamment partie du complexe multiproteique TFIID, un composant majeur de la machinerie transcriptionnelle de base. Nos travaux ont permis d'etablir que TAF12 etait le partenaire privilegie d'ATF7 au sein de cette machinerie, et que ce cofacteur relayait l'activite transcriptionnelle d'ATF7. L'autre aspect de notre travail a consiste en l'etude d'une modification post-traductionnelle affectant ATF7, la SUMOylation. Nous avons pu mettre en evidence qu'ATF7 etait SUMOyle in vitro et in vivo, et que sa SUMOylation affectait a la fois sa localisation intranucleaire et son activite transcriptionnelle en empechant son interaction avec TAF12.
