This documentary about the classic sci-fi novel WAR OF THE WORLDS includes interviews with the cast and crew of the 2005 film by the same title, directed by Stephen Spielberg, and starring Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning, and Tim Robbins. A fictional account of aliens invading Earth, H.G. Wells's book has provided the basis for numerous other stories, novels, and films. H.G. WELLS' WAR OF THE WORLDS examines the famous sci-fi story and several of the works it has informed, from Orson Welles's infamous radio adaptation in 1938, to Spielberg's monumental Hollywood undertaking nearly 70 years later.

    War of the Worlds

    It's a good retrospective on the events surrounding the radio broadcast, but it spends to much unecessary biographic text in my opinion..I found it dragged at times, but being a WOTW buff there is always something of value in it for me..They should have spent more time w/a behind the scenes of all three movies(special effects, etc) which was not not present. Overall it was not a complete dissapointment, but is geared to those who are interested in the complete life of HG Wells, which was informative, but not really what I was looking for.

    War of the Worlds perspective classic book

    Very good outline of H.G. Wells.....I would like the audio of the War of the Worlds. I've seen the movie but was not impressed. I had at one time the audio tape and was impressed but have lost it. Thats what you get when you try to share with a friend. If you know of someone or store with the audio tape I would like to know. Thanks Skip Crawford

    Historical data of War of the Worlds

    This film was disappointing to me as I really expected it to be a film that portrayed more data on why and how the War of the Worlds film was made. It became more of a documentary film, and was not very entertaining. I wouldn't purchase another because of my disappointment.

    Bad seller took money and never sent movie.

    Cant really tell you what its about, the seller likes to get the money and run! he never sends them out . 4 different movies!
