Great documentary movie about Elvis Presley.
I enjoyed this documentary movie "This Is Elvis" in the theaters when it came out years ago and am glad to have a copy of it. The second disc, the expanded version, in the set added a lot of material that was not in the movie theater version. Along with the many clips of actual footage of Elvis Presley there are some added scenes using actors to recreate various stages of his life to complete his story. I enjoyed this documentary movie "This Is Elvis" in the theaters when it came out years ago and am glad to have a copy of it. The second disc, the expanded version, in the set added a lot of material that was not in the movie theater version. Along with the many clips of actual footage of Elvis Presley there are some added scenes using actors to recreate various stages of his life to complete his story.

If you want to expand your love of and knowledge of Elvis, this is the set to get. Gives footage from Aug 16 and how the public reacted to Elvis passing. Shows the love people everywhere have for the extraordinary, talented soul. You will see that Elvis was the same from the beginning,a true blessing to everyone who came into contact with him. I HIGHLY recommend adding this DVD set to your collection to relive the memories again & again and introduce to a new generation. This set is one of the better that sheds a positive light on Elvis. Elvis Fans Will Enjoy This One
"This Is Elvis" was released in 1981. It was the first movie done some 4 years after his death. A lot of early footage, plus film clips, great music and just plain Elvis! The Special Edition is great in that there are 2 DVD's in this collection. The version released in 1981 and a newer version with scenes not seen before, including a rather "risque" edition of an Elvis song done in a brothel. OK, we knew he wasn't innocent. Buy all means, get the Special Edition (2007) version. You also get footage from his final TV special that is rare and hard to find today."This Is Elvis" was released in 1981.
