Reviews
Robust, authentic, and exciting as its predecessor . . . a vividly conjured picture of her place and time., "Older, tougher, wiser, Sarah enchants with her plainspoken energy and honesty. The title may suggest a gentle tale of domestic comfort, but the book is as straightforward, gritty and persistent as the woman who inspires it and as memorable as the landscape where she carves out her life." -- Publishers Weekly "Robust, authentic, and exciting as its predecessor . . . a vividly conjured picture of her place and time." -- Booklist "Authentic in its detail, the novel's pace and intriguing cast of characters are reminiscent of Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove . A sensitive, vibrant story about the strength of love and family told in the voice of a woman who must be reckoned with." -- Denver Post "If you want a picture of what life was like back then, look no further. Authentic in feel, [this] is convincing historic fiction. The armchair traveler is in for an exciting trip." -- The New Mexican "Hard times, danger, love, well-defined characters and a strong sense of place all merge to form the heart of this realistic novel." -- Dallas Morning News "All the enduring elements of the mystery that is life on earth can be found between the pages of this book. It is a perfectly authentic story, beautifully executed by its author." --Michael Blake, author of Dances with Wolves and The Holy Road "Gritty Sarah Elliot, who lassoed our hearts in These Is My Words , proves that women as well as men tamed the West." --Sandra Dallas, author of The Diary of Mattie Spenser "Sarah Prine is the real article . . . the kind of woman that any real man will cherish, if he's lucky enough to find her, and smart enough to know it." --Don Coldsmith, author of the Spanish Bit Saga "Action-packed. . . . We'd trust [Sarah's] judgment if a wildfire were running straight at us. We're in good hands, calloused and strong. Turner has lived in Sarah's landscape and writes with a sharp eye for the fine points of the times." -- Tucson Guide Quarterly, Action-packed. . . . Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

Enjoyable reading during these stressful times!

This is book 2 of the Sarah Agnes Prine trilogy. If possible, read "These is My Words" first, followed by "Sarah's Quilt". "The Star Garden" completes the trilogy. If you enjoy reading fiction about early Southwest history, you'll enjoy all three books. Great characters, I just wish the author had given us one more book and made it a quartet. I didn't want to quit reading her life story.

  • Wonderful, compelling book.

This book is wonderful from beginning to end. Be sure to read These is My Words by same author, first. It is the beginning of this wonderful story, following the diary of a brave woman. I could not put it down!

First I read These Is My Words, and thoroughly loved it. This book is as good. There's not been one page that feels like a waste of my time. I love this author and the characters in her books.
