About this product

Product Information

The collaboration of Ethan Coen and Joel Coen has made for some of the finest American films of recent years, and their screenplays, rich in wit and imaginative detail, are a joy to read. Blood Simple (1984)A cuckolded Texan bar owner hires a slimy private investigator to kill his unfaithful wife and her boyfriend, but this is merely the start of a grisly chain of back-stabbings and murders. Raising Arizona (1987)Unable to conceive a child, recidivist stick-up man H. I. McDonnough and his policewoman wife kidnap one of the quintuplets of furniture tycoon Nathan Arizona, only to earn the unwelcome attentions of Hi s ex-convict pals, and the menacing Lone Biker of the Apocalypse. Miller's Crossing (1990)In the era of Prohibition, Tom Reagan is the trusted lieutenant of Irish crime boss Leo, and endeavours to keep the peace when Leo gets locked into a feud with rival mobster Johnny Caspar. Barton Fink (1991)Newly-successful New York playwright Barton Fink accepts an invitation to Hollywood, but his grim assignment - a Wallace Beery wrestling picture - gives him writer's block, and his only friend is insurance salesman Charlie Meadows, fellow guest at the creepy Hotel Earle.

Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Ideal for someone learning scriptwriting

I just started reading raising arizona. I'm trying to learn how to write scripts and am also a fan of the Coen Brothers films. O'brother has to be my favorite, it is so darn good. We have even worked some of their idioms in to our own local vocab. Hard to believe that 2 guys from Minnesota could be so good at Hollywood. But their scripts read just like their movies. Blunt and real. Reading the script gives you an insite as to how well they write. I found the foreword quite interesting, its from a guy who doesn't like their films, and says its all garbage. lol. A good book for training yourself in the language of scriptwriting, with films you must have seen. I really like this book. As a movie fanatic, the book took me behind the screen into the art of script writing. Loved it !
