This dramatic anime series follows a journey of self-discovery that is put in motion when Yukari, a pretty but somewhat shallow and immature high school student repressed by an uptight mother, is kidnapped by the head of an haute culture fashion and modeling agency. As Yukari begins her career as a model, she also enters into a passionate relationship with fashion designer George Koizumi.     Beautifully Woven Tale

    This was truthfully a gift for a friend; I'm personally not interested at all in Parakiss. I gave it a watch anyway having read the mangas and I've gotta admit, the art is beautiful (much more detailed than most animes), the score's pretty nice (with a cameo from Franz Ferdinand with Do You Want To for the ED), and most of the voice actors giving a top notch performance. Most. Key word. Much of the main cast left something to be desired. I felt that the VA for Arashi was too scratchy. He sounded more like a hermit nerd than an eccentric fashion designer. And Isabella? He's a DUDE. Stop giving crossdressers and gay men in animes FEMALE VA'S. JEEZ. YOU'RE NOT HIDING ANYTHING.     Short but Sweet

    It may have been less than 15 episodes but it is an excellent series. Character design is gorgeous, the story itself is at times exasperating (but when is life not????) and has you screaming advice to a screen that cannot respond but is also humorous and touching. This story will definitely keep you guessing what will happen next. Addicting and a great present for those interested in: this particular style of anime, fashion/fashion design, a girls night in with anime, or even guys who like a chick flick every once in a while.
