Serious Sam: The Next Encounter, created by Climax Entertainment for release on PlayStation 2 and GameCube, features hero Sam "Serious" Stone once again pitted against the deadly and grotesque forces of the villain Mental, who spreads his evil throughout key time periods in human history.<br><br>In Serious Sam: The Next Encounter, players take the role of the grim hero to blast baddies through 40 levels in three main locations -- ancient Rome, feudal China, and the mythical Atlantis. A dozen weapons from earlier games return here, though many have been enhanced or adjusted to accommodate additional options, such as heat-seeking ammo for the chain gun or laughing gas for the flamethrower. Familiar creatures return as well, joined by new monstrosities inspired by the game's three new settings.<br><br>Multiplayer gaming is supported by both console versions of the title. A FPS With Bright Colors
I've tried several FPS and most are too dark, tunnels, doors, I'm stuck on a wall. Sam goes outside + lets you roam + be ready for the next onslaught instead of constantly being surprised + dying quickly, only to start over in the same area. Timesplitters 1 + 2 are good in this way also.

A really fun first person shooter!
If you've ever played a Serious Sam game then you know you are in for some serious fun! The graphics in this game are good about par for when it was released. The controls are pretty much just like any other FPS. The gameplay is so good, really. I'm not into FPS, but this game is really awesome! The great thing about this game is that it's intense while still being fun, and FUNNY! Sam has some great sayings that will have you laughing out loud. At times this games story doesn't follow but I think because it's supposed to be a comical game. And comical it is! You will kill so many strange looking aliens, you'll see them in your dreams! The bosses are great and fairly challenging. My only grip is that once in a while there is a slow down, but it doesn't last long. This game is seriously ... Nostalgia
Loved this game back when it came out for the pc over 15 years ago. Like the ps2 version too. Nostalgic old school shooter. (still prefer quake though. Lol)
