Strap yourself in for some dangerous racing in Acclaim's Burnout, an arcade-style driving game featuring risky runs and realistic collision damage. The game's AI causes pedestrians and bystanders to try to get out of the way on the crowded thoroughfares, while opponent racers attempt to maneuver the player out of position (and off the road altogether, if possible). A total of 14 busy courses are available, set in real-world locations in the U.S. and Europe. Drivers are challenged with more than just finding the lines and handling the turns; as Burnout races take place on public streets and highways that are full of other vehicles, changing traffic patterns are often a factor as the player races toward the finish.

    Its average at best

    Its basically a alpha demo for burnout 2. Its not a bad game but your basically paying a legit arcade racing machine game for the ps2. You basically pick a generic looking car and you do a championship which reminds me of San Francisco rush basically. You can't takedown cars like in Burnout 3 and later games. You also cannot hit anything even a tiny hit can cause a crash. There's nothing much special than that. Its a great collectors item but Burnout 2 is enjoyable and feels like the actual final product for Burnout 1 should have been

    this isnt GRAN TOURISMO , nor is it Need For Speed ,but this is a racing game, not like we are used to . but the feeling of speed is here ,the blur of 205mph as you go around traffic , traffic ? yes traffic at 150mph + speed the traffic can be a real pain in the *** . good thing this is a game cause this would freekin hurt when your cruzin at 200mph and rearend a semi ouch! .. the idea of being able to watch this crash in slow motion is kind of kool, but irritating b-cuz its gonna happen alot... the crashes are REALLY KOOL missions ,instead of racing the point of this is to cause the biggest possible pileup the bigger the better. this i found was quite enjoyable ;) this game is worth the money so if your thinkin about maybe buying this go for it , it is fun.
