Product Information

Brian Jacques, New York Times bestselling author of the Redwall series, brings you a "jam-packed adventure is a swashbuckling take of pirates on the high seas" (Detroit Free Press). Ben and his black labrador, castaways from the legendary ghost ship Flying Dutchman, swore never to go to sea again. But fate casts them adrift once more on a French pirate ship, with two villainous sea captains--and a ghost--in pursuit.

Reviews
"It has all the elements that make Jacques' books sing--terrific description, wonderful characters, and the power to transport you to an unforgettable place." --Detroit Free Press "Action-packed and filled to the brim with colorful characters." - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Fast-paced action." - The Indianapolis Star "Swashbuckling." - The Columbus Dispatch "[A] big, sprawling adventure...the story delivers nonstop action, pithy dialogue, and esoteric sea lore." - The Horn Book Magazine "Rousing...vivid language, larger-than-life characters, and multiple story lines yield a sprawling, epic tale. Anyone, young and old, who enjoys being immersed in big, romantic adventures will love this series. Readers hooked by Jacque's storytelling magic in Castaways and the Redwall series are destined to be readers for life. May his readers be legion." - Kirkus Reviews "Once again, Jacques spins a rousing yarn that fairly bursts at the seams with exciting escapades, exotic locations, poems, shanties, treachery, and derring-do...The sheer storytelling vigor is hard to resist. [Jacques] conjures a colorful, fully realized world and injects the pages with plenty of snappy repartee." - Publishers Weekly "The plot is almost nonstop action, with lots of swordplay." - School Library Journal "There's lots of swashbuckling adventure, suspense, intrigue, and some humor, much like Jacque's beloved Redwall sagas. This new story will appeal to the same audience." - KLIATT "High adventure with memorable characters." - Locus "Another page-turner. Readers who enjoyed the first book will find this sequel even more exciting." - Booklist, "It has all the elements that make Jacques' books sing--terrific description, wonderful characters, and the power to transport you to an unforgettable place."  --Detroit Free Press

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • An Excellent Read

This is the second installment to the "Castaways of the Flying Dutchman" series which follows the further adventures of Ben and his faithful dog Ned. I read the "Castaways of the Flying Dutchman" and really enjoyed it. So when I found out there was a second book in the series I had to read it also. "Angel's Command" is equally as good as the first book. Brian Jacques has a way of describing things that makes you feel like you are right there with Ben and Ned feeling and experiencing the same things they are. If you like a little mystery, swashbuckling pirates then this book is for you. This book, in my opinion, is an awesome read and I can't wait to read the third book in the series, "Voyage of Slaves".

  • Captivating!

I could not put it down! Every page reveals so much charachter and emotion, that you cannot help but feel that you met these charachters and that you heard their story from their own lips. Brian Jacques truly is a master of literature.
