    I have not read this book in several years and I have not had time to look it over now. I am buying for a collection of First Editions. It is as I remember, an excellent choice of reading material. With Grisham, you really cannot go wrong.

    One of his best

    Grisham did his ressearch on this novel. Having spent 35 years as a social worker on the streets, it rang true in background and character development. I felt I knew the characters and all their strenthes and weaknesses. And as seems his style, one isn't sure till the very end where and how it will all come together. Grisham's knowledge of the law and the culture of lawyers is obvious, but he leads the reader into this world and helps us understand it, and appreciate both strength and weaknesses. I was brought to this author through his "King of Torts", and I have been a fan ever since. And this novel didn't disappoint me in the least. He has the ability to make you want to read just one more chapter, no matter how late the hour, especially the last 50 pages. His social commentary is ...

    Excellent read

    I have recently started reading John Grisham‘s novels, and have read quite a few in the past couple of months. This one is my favorite so far. I think it’s because it shows what one person with a good heart can accomplish in this world.
