About this product

Product Information

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Jetsetters . . . Years ago, five-year-old Ellie disappeared. But then her sister finds her photograph in the pages of a magazine, leading her to ask: Was Ellie ever really missing? "Invites comparison to The Lovely Bones . . . Ward's depiction of family, with its attendant love and guilt, will keep you turning pages."-- People Joseph and Isabelle Winters seem to have it all: a grand home in Holt, New York, a trio of radiant daughters, and a sense that they are safe in their affluent corner of America. But when five-year-old Ellie disappears, the fault lines within the family are exposed: Joseph, once a successful businessman, succumbs to his demons; Isabelle retreats into memories of her debutante days in Savannah; and Ellie's bereft sisters grow apart--Madeline reluctantly stays home, while Caroline runs away. Fifteen years later, Caroline, now a New Orleans cocktail waitress, sees a photograph of a woman in a magazine. Convinced that it is Ellie all grown up, Caroline embarks on a search for her missing sister. Armed with copies of the photo, an amateur detective guide, and a cooler of Dixie beer, Caroline travels through the New Mexico desert, the mountains of Colorado, and the smoky underworld of Montana, determined to salvage her broken family.

Product is 95% alike picture but a little more blurry. Controller play well but had a notice from psn that my joypad wasn't authentic and could by problematic🤷‍♂️ no trouble so far! Shipping was fast but no tracking and worst packaging ever.. like the box came banged up... send a question to seller never had a reply 😅.... Good product overall, excellent price, fast shipping, wrapped only on 4 sides out of 6, no tracking and never reply... 4★ product / 2★ seller ✌️

The book is in perfect condition, brand new, and is exactly as described. This item is difficult to find here, and the seller priced it very reasonably. It shipped from the UK to Canada, and unfortunately took a little longer to arrive than the seller hoped, but it was shipped less than 24 hours after I purchased. When I contacted the seller, they were very responsive and helpful. I would not hesitate to purchase from this seller again. Definitely recommend!

  • Lost and Found

I don’t think anybody needs help in figuring out how to be lost, but at one point or another we may need help figuring out how to be found, or how to find ourselves. Amanda Eyre Ward’s book, How to Be Lost, is the story of a woman in search of her lost sister who eventually finds herself. Caroline Winters in the oldest of three sisters. She and her younger sisters live a seemingly charmed life in New York. The family lives in a beautiful home in an expensive neighborhood, but behind the closed front door is an alcoholic father and a self-absorbed mother. Caroline, Madeline and little Ellie live in fear of their father’s rages. Their mother, Isabelle, lost in her own world isn’t there for them, so they decide to make a better life for themselves and run away to New Orleans. On the day of ...

  • How To Be Lost by Amanda Eyreward 👍👍👍

Content: The storyline is good. A 5 year old goes missing. Years later, the disappearance is the elephant in the room for the family. The mother is convinced she's still alive. The eldest sister sets on a journey to find her, instead, finding herself. The writing is simply ok. The author chose to keep things very simple. Sentences are short. Many words are repetitive. Character conversations are dull. Far too many character responses are boringly "Oh". The characters themselves are not compelling in the least. Caroline is weak, awkward and the ultimate hot mess that self sabotages anything remotely positive. The Agnes letters are blatantly unstable and a bit uncomfortable. Maddy is bitter and sick with pregnancy. The mom is half entertaining, but her existence in the book is short ...

  • WOW..you must keep reading till the very end!

In the beginning I wasn't sure I would like this or not....could a family be that disfunctional? But, you find out so much about them and the life they lead....Caroline is truly a delight. You really hope that the whole thing ties up nicely at the end, but it doesn't. Don't be turned away in the first few chapters....it gets so good in the middle and the end as the search for Ellie begins. I will look to find other books by this author...Great Job!
