  • AT4047 industry standard & great addition to the studio

Prior to purchasing the AT 4047 I had heard great things about it's versatility and recently had heard it in action as a stereo pair on drums. It blew me away as a great, clean mic that captured the wide spectrum of frequencies the drum kit throw at an engineer. In my first session with it I used it as a double to a SM 57 for stereo mic'ing a Fender Deluxe guitar amp and loved the way it grabbed the essence of the electric guitar without making it too dark or too bright. It's a very versatile mic that can basically do everything from drums to vocals and doesn't color anything too harshly, while providing enough presence to effectively push the sounds in either direction. I highly recommend it for any studio due or any home recorder due to it's multi-use capabilities.

  • Audio Technica 4047sv Condenser Mic

This mic is an absolute winner. It sounds incredible on everything that I have tried it on. I'm very happy with it in every way except I have never been a fan of the audio technica shock mount. It's not super easy to get the mic in and out and the shock mount itself prevents the user from placing the mic directly next to an amp or whatever the source is. The closest you can get is about an inch away. I admit, that one inch is close enough but it's still would be nice to not be limited in that way. There are other shock mounts from other manufacturers that work with this mic so the shock mount is definitely not a deal breaker. Great mic all around.

  • Very serios mic.

Very correct sound. The mic is very serious. Not quite universal. Perfectly sound on the high female vocals. At the sound feels light compression as in the old Neumann. But unlike the old classic Neumann U87 sound a little digital painting is easy, but still very close in quality. Sounds great microphone for recording with a guitar cabinet. Here, it has no equal in the range of $ 1000 and more. And, most importantly, made in Japan. The quality of the microphones in a single line of absolutely identical.

  • Excellent in every way! Totally satisfied!

  • Solid, big and bold. This mic has a lot of mojo.

This is one thick mic. Absolutely love it. AT tried to recreate a U47 and in turn, created their own beast. Looks, feels and sounds great! For the price, there is some new competition, but there will always be a place in my mic locker for one of these, probably two.
