      HDMI, PAL, NTSC, REGION-FREE.....Yes!

      Have used the Philips 2880 for many years and am a devoted fan. I like it's small-ish size, the fact that it will play PAL and NTSC formats for any region-code worldwide (or is hackable to be made capable of doing that!), it upconverts (when necessary) to HD 1080 output and has a HDMI port to play the dvd to an HD tv for a really great picture (whether the input disc is PAL or NTSC). Am slowly replacing all of my other single disc dvd players to the 2880 model. I never want to be without at least one Philips 2880!

      I'm a DVD addict now !

      I chose this HD/DVD player because of the great things that previous buyers said about it in their reviews ! I am very satisfied. I only wish I had bought 2 for the price I paid for this one ! If I find it on sale again, I will buy it immediately!!!

      Super sound, vision, USB features and a fair price point-own 3.

      Limited room: Have lots of 320kbs MP3 recordings not supported by many DVD players now. Flash drive input works great on sound and images (only Divx movies). You can also back up data from the DVD player to MP3 files on the flash drive with software built in. Has karioke stuff I have no interest in. Has an excellent 1080p up-scale (have some old Philips without it and you can see the difference). Love Phlips dvd players. Own 3 of this model now so guess I should give it 5 Stars!

      As good as you hoped it would be.

      No problem playing DVD from anywhere. You just put them in and they play, no questions or changing settings. The picture quality is great.

      Bought to replace older player

      This player is listed as "Region Free" even though sticker on rear of unit says "1" for region 1. I purchased this to play dvds I brought back from the U.K. that played in my LG Blu-ray but for some reason no longer play in it. So far this player seems to be playing them with no issue. Will update review in future if necessary.
