    Good basic GPS

    It’s an older model, but all I really needed for occasional Geocaching. Works well, reliable, can link up with the computer. Not sure you can update maps though - something I read said it wasn’t possible. Not necessary for my uses though.

    Etrex Legend H GPS

    Having previously owned a Garmin Etrex Legend, (Which was smashed) I decided to replace it. The Legend H has more capabilities and some new features that I like but I also learned that I cannot download my mapsource to the GPS, nor can I upload from the GPS bact to my computer, it seems like this new Legend H does not have that capability as I learned after trying numerous times I finally contacted a tech. at Garmin, he explained they aren't designed to hold downloaded maps.

    Cheap, effective, accurate, and easy to use!

    I bought this unit to replace a more expensive unit that had been stolen. I figured it would be a good back up and the kids could use it, but I was so impressed with it that I think I'll be using it a lot! It definitely doesn't have all the features that the pricier models have, but it turns on and loads up 10x faster! The accuracy is second to none, and it's very simple! I use it for geocaching, and the only thing I don't love about it is that it only holds about 1,000 caches. That's not a big deal really, but more memory would be nice! For the price I can't complain about anything!

    Garmin eTrex Legend H GPS Receiver

    Love to Geocache, Hunt, Hiking, or the outdoors, this is a great starter unit. The eTrex Legend H GPS Receiver has a very simple ease of use. The directions were simple that our 12 year old was working this unit in a few hours. With a simple MiniUSB to USB connection to your computer, you can easily download waypoints or geocache coordinates in just seconds. This is one of the simplest units I have used. One downfall with this unit is that it has a monochrome screen that can be difficult to read depending on lighting conditions and angle. Receives satellite much faster that its earlier model the Legend. Has a great read of position even in tough conditions.

    Garmin Legend H

    I have had a Garmin etrex Legend for the last 15 years. Recently when using it I discovered the toggle switch was failing to work. I found this model H on ebay as a replacement. I am finding it somewhat different from the earlier model. It seems to be set up more for geo-caching. It will take me a little while to get it programmed the way I want and get used to the differences between it and the earlier model.
