About this product

Product Information

Originally produced in 1972, this Godzilla film is among the best loved for its funny quirks and quintessential moments. Godzilla battles the chicken-headed space monster, Gigan, and a host of other evil alien creatures. The film's high point is a dynamic extended fight sequence between Godzilla, Gigan, Angurius, and King Ghidorah. All of the elements that have made Godzilla a favorite are here: actors dressed in rubber monster suits, stock film footage, and goofy characters that are an afterthought to the charismatic giant reptiles.

  • It's A Bit Mediocre, But What Did You Expect?

This film presents us with Gigan, the chicken looking cyborg from space. Here, we have a shady plot that almost has it's brilliant moments. In the end, though, it's still the same old devious aliens up to no good - a bit of a twist is present, however. The fight scenes (once they finally get started) are pretty good. Not only do we get Godzilla and Gigan, but Anguillas and King Ghidora as well...so we get a pretty good monster battle royal. As you can guess, Godzilla and Anguillas are like best friends and tag team against the other two. Here's something that really made me laugh: In the beginning, the monsters talk. I don't just mean that they roar to one another; I mean that someone with a deep, scratchy, growling voice, speaks English words. It's really quite pathetic and we could have ...

  • WW LOVED IT!

Godzilla Vs Gigan is one of the better post-DESTROY ALL MONSTERS Showa entries. Fans are usually divided on whether Destroy All Monsters is the last great Godzilla movie or not. Personally I love it. Face it, after Destroy All Monsters we got a slew of lackluster, non exciting, cheap movies that just happened to include Godzilla. To me they just weren't Godzilla movies. They include Godzilla's Revenge, Godzilla vs The Smog Monster (Hedora), and Godzilla vs Megalon. The last two entries Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla and Terror of MechaGodzilla were gallant but unsuccessful attempts to bring Godzilla back to his up to Destroy All Monsters glory. Pre-Destroy All Monsters for those who don't like that movie. As for Godzilla Vs Gigan, it falls into a category all it's own. It doesn't fit into the ...

  • Monsters From Space.

I have been a fan of Godzilla films for sometime and wanted this one because of it. Godzilla had his hands full fighting Gigan. It was one of those that you didn't know if Godzilla would help man or hurt him. It turned out he helped a great deal. Good Godzilla movie.
