Being the special Anniversary Version, it offers the original theatrical release, as well as a longer Director's Edit, which includes a lot of new material, which helps to fill in the story and background. Great audio and video with better items, including behind the scenes stuff they shot long before Hollywood did that. Great!

"The Frighteners" is an excellent movie! The special effects are first rate considering the low-budget of the movie. Jeffrey Combs plays crazy Agent Dammers to perfection ("Stop! You're violating my terratorial bubble.") And Jake Busey turns in a memorable performance as deranged Johnny Bartlett. "The Frighteners" is a great blend of horror and comedy, and without the combination, the movie would have been bland, but the director pulls it off. The best aspect of the film is its originality. Never before have I seen a horror movie so clever (with the possible exception of "The Blair Witch Project"). This movie never fails to thrill me. I have had this film in several formats but with the newer 15th Anniversary Edition it looks at good as ever. Worth a watch over and over....MJF is great!
