        Every home needs one

        This is to replace a dead 20 year ol Midland weather radio. Apparently they no longer make the model we had so it was time to upgrade. This one has a lot more buttons, a lot more features and a lot more things to program in. Im looking forward to having the security of a weather radio in the house again. This one has AM/FM, as well as weather broadcast, seeminly endless hazard alerts. Up to 23 county alerts. I think the siren could be louder but Im used to the other models. I dont know how some people could think this is too loud. To each his own. We will see how this goes.

        Not what I expected

        I have many Midland products but this one is a dud. Certainly not what I expected. AM reception is non-existent even with an additional antenna. It is very difficult to program. The FM works good and the sound is ok for a radio of this size. The storm alert is loud which is a good thing and that part works perfectly. Overall it is a so-so product.

        Does what it should for weather alerts

        Works very well on giving you the alerts you need. Programming is easy, if you follow the instructions. Sound is good for its size. One negative is the tuning for regular radio programming is not very selective. On AM especially it often picks up a second station and tuning will not eliminate that background noise.

        A Great Weather Alert Radio !!!

        It works perfect once you set it up for your specific area. It's a great tool to keep my family safe during bad weather events. It's a very nice unit and I really like it. Be sure to install 4 Lithium AA batteries for backup power. Lithium batteries are much more expensive than Alkaline, but the Lithium batteries are Guaranteed to never leak in your device over time and cause damage !!
