The Sound Edge series of hi hat cymbals from Paiste are designed to get the most out of a drummer's hi hat technique. The signature CuSn8 bronze hats can be well suited for all styles of play, but they are created with energetic footwork in mind. The hi hat pair can create a consistently crisp chick sound when stepping on the pedal in order to enhance the drums’ timekeeping. This allows the Sound Edge hi hat cymbals to cut through the guitars to create a great presence in the music mix. Whether keeping time or adding accents, these Paiste hi hats can add a new percussion voice to the drum set without accessories.Standard stock hi hats have a smooth edge on both cymbals, which can trap air when playing and cause sound inconsistencies. This is often mitigated by adjusting the angle of the bottom cymbal using a bolt found on most hi hat stands. The Paiste Sound Edge hi hats have a bottom cymbal with a wavy edge that can allow air to escape without resistance. That means closing the cymbal pair can create a consistent and uninhibited sound so players can drum with a precise feel. It also means that additional accessories or microphones aren't required to bring the hi hat sound to life in the drums.The Paiste Sound Edge series of cymbals can produce the signature Paiste sound with added clarity from standard medium weighted cymbals. This allows drummers to keep the bright sound qualities that can be lost when switching over to heavy projection hats. It also allows them to keep the technique they developed on medium hats rather than altering their practiced sticking force. Paiste Sound Edge hats use design innovation and their signature CuSn8 bronze alloy for a crisp and pronounced cymbal sound. This means these Paiste hats can cut through any guitar riff without changing the feel or style of the drum playing.Cymbals and gear made by Paiste can live up to their great reputation for excellent sound and quality in both materials and construction. This hi hat set incorporates a number of innovations originated by Paiste decades ago and emulated by many other cymbal makers. The wavy design of the lower Paiste cymbals was first introduced in 1967 to prevent airlock from altering the sound. This design was also incorporated into the hand cymbals used in orchestral percussion to prevent the same potential effect. Manufacturers have since emulated this original design from Paiste due to its use by drummers from all styles of music.The Paiste CuSn8 alloy, also known as 2002 or B8 bronze, is another innovation that is incorporated in these hats. It was first introduced in 1965 and was unique to Paiste accessories and high end cymbals until the early 2000's. This alloy is used in their higher end cast cymbal lines to keep the manufacturing process both efficient and affordable. The result can be a high quality hi hat with great projection, energetic stick response with a clear and bright tonal quality. Finally seller advised they had no control of inventory of small parts that come in their items, and I would have to repack and ship back a 50 lb item and receive a refund then I could repurchase.
