    It's not plastic, that is good!

    It's expensive for what it is and if I had gotten it years ago I could give a better review of it. Why? The top that attaches to this is completely shot now, so I'm unable to use it. I gave it 5 stars because it's a duplicate of the plastic part I'm replacing, only in metal.

    Descriptions can be misleading. Said it wouldn't fit, but it did!

    I don't know why Ford made their armrest with flimsy plastic. It's natural that you're going to use that to get yourself up in your truck... This replacement bottom is durable and can withstand a decent amount of weight. The descriptions are pretty misleading because they'll tell you that it won't fit. This fit my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT. Literally go by the picture, if it looks like the bottom you have then it will probably work. It's a pain in the butt to get on, but it's worth it in the end! Whatever you do, don't pay $100 for a replacement armrest that's just going to be stupid flimsy cheap plastic.

    better than new

    The first time I replaced it with a Ford part and it broke after a couple years. This metal part is way better. The Ford padding that screws on top of it is kind of wasted. The half the screw holes are broken out. But this thing makes up for that with it's rigidity.

    great improvement

    arm rest is very sturdy now. wish I would have found it sooner. Spent too much money on plastic ones. Bought two plastic and they both broke. Want have that problem any more!!

    Great metal replacement for OEM plastic

    I have replaced these before with the OEM Ford part. This is the first time I have used this part and I was very impressed. If Ford made their part like this one is made, there would never be a need to replace them. Ford's is all plastic, which is why they break, and this part is metal, which is why I don't think it will ever break. And the price was almost half of the original replacement part.
