  • Dreamlike, Atmospheric Euro-Gothic

One of the last great Gothic castle films of the 1960s. As censorship was beginning to loosen at the time, edgier topics were being explored. This film is dripping with atmosphere. The Autumn woods, the real castle in which they filmed the movie, the wonderful costumes, the country chateau and the interesting, attractive cast make this a winner. Don't worry about the story - that's just a framework for the gorgeous scenery, beautiful music and moody ambience. I loved this film and if you enjoy Euro-gothics you probably will, also.

  • No way.

Just does not make a whole lot of sense, very boring, poor acting and direction considering the makers of this movie did Mark of the Devil which was and still is a masterpiece.
