Based on the best-selling book by H.G. Bissinger, Peter Berg's gritty, powerful drama tells the true story of a small Texas town in which high school football is the only thing that matters. Set in 1988, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS opens on the first day of practice for the Odessa Permian Panthers. Under intense pressure and scrutiny from the town's residents, head coach Gary Gaines (Billy Bob Thornton) nonetheless maintains a calm façade. His star player, Boobie Miles (Derek Luke), is a running back with unlimited potential, but the rest of the team is undersized and lacking killer instinct--especially quarterback Mike Winchell (Lucas Black), who's shy and short of confidence, and Don Billingsley (Garrett Hedlund), who is tormented by his father (Tim McGraw) for being too soft. When Boobie goes down on opening day with a career threatening knee injury, the season appears to be over. But Gaines won't give up, and neither will the rest of his feisty players.Billy Bob Thornton delivers another outstanding performance in Berg's impassioned drama, as do the film's young actors (most notably Luke, Black, and Hedlund).     Friday Night Lights is worth the money.

    Friday Night Lights is a great movie. Texas football is a big thing, especially this story. I went to this high school and Mojo football is the thing in Odessa, Texas. Great buy. Perfect condition/ quick shipping.

    Best football movie ever !

    I have this movie on DVD,HD, Now Blu ray. This movie started a T.V series final season 5 comes out april 5 I have all seasons. Yes I & my kids watch this movie alot H.S football is great sport to watch so when NFL Greed kills it like baseball. it`s all about H.S & NCAA Football. buy it!! .R.S

    friday night lights movie

    i bought it because i like that movie and wanted to own it. my little brothers also liked it to. we like to watch football movies and everytime my little brothers watch they get inspired to play football. got to me pretty fast.

    Friday Night Lights (Film)

    I love this movie. One of the best sports movies ever made. It captures the emotion, drama, and excitement of high school football in Texas. Great Movie.
