    Sleeper that is too often overlooked!

    This lens is definitely above average! Pros: ·1:2(half life size) macro mode ·useful focal range ·decent image quality ·accurate color reproduction ·easy to use ·lightweight ·Price ·Pretty accurate AF for price point and consumer lens Cons: ·A tad lacking in contrast, but easily fixed in post with no ill after effects ·cheaper build quality, but still decent ·CA/PF can be an issue under certain conditions, but nothing that can not be corrected in post easily ·slow and louder AF, but not too noisy I love this lens, lol! Extremely lightweight! IQ is phenomenal for the type of lens and price point! Sharpness is quite decent as is overall IQ. I shot everything from macros to portraits to even a wedding due to a lens malfunction and it handled them all very well! Add on a 25mm extension tube ...

    Perfect substitute carry-on lens

    The Sigma 28-80mm (Minolta mt) is one of my favorites. It is handy- truly a carry-on lens. It's all around, and available for the roughest settings and conditions. One does not need to worry about the quality of images because it shoots sharply (within known technical limits as amateur photogs should be aware of :P). It produces better colors than modern equivalents (Sony or Nikkors), and most importantly, it's way cheaper. All this qualities make it a recommended lens and a perfect addition to anyone's collection.

    Good all purpose lens and light on the budget

    You can't go wrong with this lens. You get a higher quality lens then the lit lenses that come with D50, D70 and D70s. Great MACRO feature.
