These tapes are awesome! They sound great (given that you have good equipment) and they don't cost a billion dollars. It is true that a type II or type IV tape would sound better, however these type I's won't fail to impress. I would recommend anyone buy these who wants a good quality cassette tape.

Defective tape cassettes
I finally got around to opening up this package to make a duplicate cassette tapes for a relative. After I finished recording the songs from private cassettes onto 2 of the cassettes from this maxell order both cassettes were riddled with the sound of static from beginning to end. I've never had this happen before so I bought a different band of cassette and recorded it onto that cassette without any problem. I'd like to return it to you for a refund asap. I was so upset I was going to throw all of these cassettes in the trash but my husband talked me out of that.

Excellent!
This oval window is my favorite version of the UR. For a budget ferric it performs great, and this version with the blue on the wrapper has a full J-card. They certainly got the formula right on this tape, it's on the verge of being a super-ferric in my opinion. As with all ferrics, you do get some hiss on quiet passages, but that can be negated as they sound fantastic with Dolby B or C engaged. However, I used no noise reduction on the recording on tape in the picture, and it came out great.

Maxell tapes rule
For many years I have used multiple tape recorders. I have hundreds of tapes of music and lectures. I prefer Maxell tapes. I can record over them many times without sacrificing quality.
