I bought a new Apple TV directly from Apple. The remote keeps connecting and disconnecting. And when I need it, it often did not work. I contacted Apple about the issue. They want me to go to the Apple store and leave it for repair. About a 20 mile drive and $20 for parking. There currently is no repair available. It needs a firmware update.
So, I will wait for that. I bought this ebay remote control. It just arrived and works perfectly out of the box. Shame on you Apple.
