The History (and Legend) of the Golden Age!
What a FUN book!!! Great pictures and lay-out! I love these books with the secret pockets and hidden "treasures"! I bought this copy USED, so a few of these extras are missing (which is sad) but somehow that's really *appropriate* because now my "pirate treasures" are indeed LOST..!

Fabulous Book packed full of Extras
Before you even open the book, you know you are in for an adventure! With the Ruby Jewel for an eye, it lets you know this is no ordinary book. On just about every page there is a pocket with a removable map, or scroll. Or there is a fold out legend. There are depictions of what the pirates looked like, their ships or weapons. Or there are actual photos of artifacts and relics. Just amazing. My 6 year old son was enthralled. We took a topic a night and had good long discussions about the ships, dress code, meanings of flags. I have 9 and 1 y/o daughters that enjoyed all the information on women pirates in the book as well. There is a removable map charting where ships were lost and possible treasure may be found. I bought the book for my fiance because he loves pirates, skulls with crossbones, and other similar items. I had purchased the book previously from a retail store and I let someone borrow it for information about pirates because she was writing her own book, needless to say I never got it back. So we found one on e-bay for a better purchase price than in the stores, I like the way it talks about actual pirates and has treasure maps, and little envelopes with different documantation about certain pirates. He loved the book and there were no dislikes about it, I would recomend the book to anyone who likes Pirates, very good information.I bought the book for my fiance because he loves pirates, skulls with crossbones, and other similar items. Great way to get your children interested in books
I bought this book for my 8 year old son and did not have any complaints. I love these books because they not only interesting but once you're done with them they look great on a shelf as well. There isn't much to read, but it has interesting facts and pictures to keep the child interested and involved. It is kind of like a pop up book for older children.
