I bought this album when I was in Jr. High and listened to it often, when I went into the Navy I came home to find my brothers had taken all of my albums, listening to it now takes me back. Steppenwolf “The Second”, their sophomore album opens with a rocker named “Faster Than The Speed Of Life”. The next song, Tighten Up Your Wig” showcases John Kay’s abilities with the harmonica. The effects of growing up and life’s lessons learned “None Of Your Doing” shows you can never go home again. Questioning the religious empire’s built on the same basic principles “Spiritual Fantasy” remains just that, the hope that everyone will someday all come together as one. “Don’t Step On The Grass, Sam” a musical political commentary on Uncle Sam’s failed attempt to stop the use of marijuana by making it a ... Steppenwolf’s second album also brought their second biggest hit “Magic Carpet Ride”, “close your eyes girl, look inside girl, let the sound take you away”. “Disappointment Number (Unknown)” a blues song that tells the story of love lost when he finds she’s been unfaithful. The search to find a connection that can stand the test of time is detailed in “Lost And Found By Trial And Error”. A rock in instrumental titled “Hodge, Podge, Strained Through A Leslie” is used to tie together this series of four songs that tell this story. In the song “Resurrection” they’ve found each other and seem to be happy together at least for the time being. Looking back through it all of the last four songs in “Reflections” and finding that love does still exist.

Rock and Blues Contained!
This classic album should be in every rock fans library! It has the sound and pure rock sound that made Steppenwolf names! I remember buying this album in 1969 while stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base and I think I about drove my roomate crazy playing it over and over because it was so good! To me, it still sounds good and brings back a lot of memories! Highly recommended!

Steppenwolf 2- One of those "gotta have" cd's!!!
Back in "the day" ie 60's .This was one of the 8-tracks a guy had to have. Magic carpet ride isn't even the best song. The whole thing pillar to post is GREAT . I saw Steppenwolf a few weeks ago and decided to get the whole catalog on cd. Money well spent. Every song is fantastic .Gabriel Mekler did a fantastic job with production. This is one of those PERFECT LP'S on cd that is.V
