    There are two kinds of people who read this book- those who have to for a class, and those who think they need to enrich their life, or broaden their horizons, etc. For those in the first category- Tough. At least you have a professor to help you out. For the rest of you- Skip it. At least this translation. (1909) There may be better ones out there, but really, you get a much better idea of what he was trying to say by reading the Wikipedia entry. That's what I did AFTER reading this piece of literature. The prologue of this book states that Nietzche only sold 146 copies of this book while he was alive. I guess that should have been a warning. Another red flag was that it was self-published. This book makes a good argument in favor of editors. It also may be instructive to ...

    Beyond Good & Evil is fundamental Nietzsche. The basis for much of his philosophy. This is a great book that deserves to be read. It illuminates, educates, and helps us better understand the world we live in. It is books like this that help us understand the people that we are.
