About this product

Product Information

In this book, Steve Khan shares his approach to chord construction on guitar, an area in which he has become famous. He has taken a complex subject and broken it down into simple building blocks and small study units. Players will learn to extend their sense of harmony by the superimposition of chord forms which are familiar, as well as a world of new ones. Includes recordings of performed examples, play-along tracks, and five completely new compositions by Steve Khan available only in this package.

A Very Modern and common sense approach to typical Jazz Chord Playing. By learning chords in a primarly upper 4 string fashion one learns how to finger/apply rather carey looking chord extensions in a practical real world mannor. That's not to say it's an easy book, but the Khancepts are very well laid out and practical. As a Guitar Player in a Jazz setting you many times wind up not playing all possible notes of the chord as you A) allow other instruments to cover some tones B) stay out of the other instruments way That greatly over simplifies the matter, but point is learning to think and play in this mannor is a great way to learn more advanced chords and more advanced aplications.
