The Ghost of Jim Morrison
Being a closet Doors fan, I was interested in a DVD of collected Doors video. This is an excellent group of videos, and I was delighted with watching it. Just about any footage shot of The Doors is included and it is great to have it all on one disk. I'm happy that the surviving members of The Doors can look back at the time they spent in the spotlight with humour. Densmores play about his time performing with Jim Morrison in the Bonus Section is hilarious! Jim does not come across as the drunken buffoon like he does in "the Doors" movie directed by Oliver Stone, but instead, as a tortured poet, not long for this world as no stimulation could satisfy his needs. The interviews are good as well, they show that the group were indeed intellecuals and college educated. It gives ... Being a closet Doors fan, I was interested in a DVD of collected Doors video. While most groups of the 60's waved the freak flag, Jim and The Doors experimented with a Performance and mood creating. Just like Elvis and Marilyn, Jim Morrison is an American Icon, you cant help but watch him closely, you are hypnotized by the music and yet, at the same time, spellbound by Jim's antics and stage presence. I highly recommend the DVD, for a fan of The Doors, and a commentary of the 60's. The fact that the members of The Doors that remain still are touring and remain true to the ideals, is reason enough to know that Hearts, Souls, and Minds went into the music they created. It is Timeless!

Where to start, for me was a no-brainer, as I owned them all on vhs, but lost them in a housefire. For any Doors fan, this has it all/except the other dvd, Live in Europe 1968, also very good/. Realize, the Doors where the FIRST band to have EVER put their music, to any film/ala todays mtv/vh1. The bands songs are so relevant today, as they were 40 years ago, lyrically, and musically, and if you consider that they had 7 albums, all went gold, another first for a band from U.S. Moreso, I love all the bands of the 60's-70's, but heres' the thing to consider, and why I think so many people like their music, and still being found as new to others: They no longer are together, like, the Stones and Who, still perform, whereas the Doors don't, and won't ever again as ... A Must Have For Any Doors Fan's Collection
I'm a huge Doors fan who read "No One Here Gets Out Alive", in the first grade and have been listening to them even longer. I'm also a singer who was blessed enough to meet Robby Krieger and sing "Roadhouse Blues" for him in 2000. They are my all time favorite, hands down. While I've seen many of the segments of this DVD in other places, I finally got around to getting this great DVD. It's well over two hours long and superbly produced. The audio quality is excellent.
