About this product

Product Information

This release offers all 20 episodes from the first season of the series STARGATE UNIVERSE. Younger in tone than previous STARGATE series, this sci-fi drama follows a group of scientists, soldiers, and ordinary people who are forced to travel through a Stargate when they come under attack. Emerging on an archaic starship headed away from Earth, the group soon find that their destiny has been sealed, as the ship's course is locked. Now they must fight for survival against hunger, dehydration, the twisted secrets of the Stargate, and even each other.

    Grittier than SG1

OK, yes, its mostly ancient technology that is falling apart. Why you ask? Because its really ancient. It predates the SG1 ancients by a huge factor. Its a life and death, barely survivable situation made worse by political schemers and egotistical self centered wannabe in charge scientists who are not leadership material. However, there are truly edge of the seat rescues and touching bits of human kindness as well. Yes, it is a good show cut short but still imminently watchable.

  • New Stargate a work in progress

This is a new take on an old, beloved franchise. I've seen every Stargate episode to date, and I liked the idea of a new feel to the show. The first half of the season was rather disappointing, with the exception of "Time" and "Justice". However, the second half of the season *really* took off! I loved just about every episode (except maybe "Pain"). This show tackles some big issues, and really delves deeply into the minds of our main characters while still maintaining that good ol' Stargate wit from time to time. All in all a good show.

  • The beginning...

Stargate Universe only lasted two seasons, but if you're a Stargate fan, buying a whole season gives you a lot of bang for the buck. For roughly the cost of a single movie at a theater, you can get a WHOLE season's worth of entertainment to enjoy over and over again.

  • Brilliant show

This show didn't do well at first because people who love Stargate wanted more pure Stargate and those who liked Battlestar Galactica wanted that sharp dramatic edge. This show falls directly between them and for fans of both, which I am, it just wants to be taken on its own merit. If you approach it as its own thing, it's excellent, every bit as tight and ensemble perfect as the Stargates, with similar humor and definitely the super cool tech, ideas and sets; it's also dramatic with tension and realistic 3D characters and superlative acting like Battlestar. It's a terrible shame it's ending at two seasons but both seasons are highly recommended.

  • Clean cds..fun story that increasingly picks up

Just watch it even tho it's short and ended
