Smaller budget, smaller twists; but still enjoyable.
I really enjoyed Art of War. Art of War II is a scaled down model of the first. Simpler, no real supporting star power, no flashy and impressive fights, and certainly no major action scenes. All of which can be found thanks to the diminished budget. But it's Snipes, and he delivers. He makes some awesome, realistic fights and is suave and cool, and an entertaining character. He carries the film without a doubt. However, very little reference is made to his previous film, and the character Niel Shaw is not what he was in the first. The first melded him with Steven Seagal and James Bond. Fast, martial artistry with gadgetry and plausible stunt work. All lost here. The ending comes on suddenly with it's "twist" that seems almost tacked on; an afterthought. Still, despite it's shortcomings, ... I really enjoyed Art of War.
