About this product

Product Information

In Code of Princess, gamers will take on the role of Princess Solange Blanchefleur de Lux. After a monster attack occurs within her nation, she and the rest of the royal family are exiled. Sensing foul play at work, Solange sets out to find the cause of the corruption. Along the way, you'll meet an assortment of colorful characters, ranging from martial artists to zombies. Code of Princess frequently relies on humor, with the game never taking itself too seriously at any given moment. The title will often break the 4th wall with the characters understanding that they are part of a video game. The game was developed by Studio Saizensen for the Nintendo 3DS. In Japan, it was published by Agatsuma Entertainment, while in the U.S., it was published by Atlus.Code of Princess is an action RPG, where players move from left to right and destroy everything in their path. By combining different attacks, players can create combos that will deal more damage to an opponent. Gamers can choose between melee-based attacks for close combat and magic attacks for long-range combat. As you fight, you'll earn experience you can use to level up your character. As you level up, you'll gain more health, strength, and defense. When you need an extra boost, you can convert your magic points into extra attack points. Retro gamers will notice the game shares a lot of similarities with Sega Saturn title Guardian Heroes. This similarity is because the two games share development staff. Both Tetsuhiko Kikuchi and Masaki Ukyo previously worked on Guardian Heroes, with Code of Princess acting as a spiritual sequel. In the campaign, gamers can play as one of four fighters. While you start out as Solange, you will gain the ability to play as Ali, Zozo, and Allegro. Each of these fighters has unique attack moves and statistics. The Free Play mode allows you to choose any character you've encountered in the campaign. Even when the campaign is over, the game is far from finished. The Bonus Quests game type in Code of Princess tasks you with beating harder stages with new objectives. This 3DS title also supports multiplayer for up to four gamers. You can work together in the cooperative mode, teaming up to finish scenarios. If you're looking for a fight, the Versus feature lets you battle in an enclosed arena. All of the playable characters are available to select when playing Versus without needing to unlock them. The graphics take full advantage of the 3DS. The 2D sprites are full of detail with each one sporting many frames of animation. This 3DS title frequently throws large quantities of enemies on the screen with no slowdown. For those times when the action gets too frantic, you can lock onto a single enemy. Not only will this allow you to focus your attacks on one foe, but you will also deal double damage as well. The main characters also feature voice acting from some of the industry's top talent. This 3DS title has a rating of T from the ESRB. This rating is due to the game's use of violence, alcohol, and suggestive themes. The gameplay is perfectly suited to the 3DS, featuring levels you can complete in under 15 minutes.

  • Awesome

Ever since the days of the great classic gaming era of the late 80s/early 90s, I have always been a fan of the arcade beat-em-up games. A great deal of coins were committed to the cause as I slammed quarter after quarter into electronic obelisks. However, over the years, when I would play the same games on a home console it would seem that some of the magic was lost, as if it was some of the charm was left behind when the experience was removed from the arcade. During those days, I was a young lad who could only pick a very small selection of games, and I made the mistake of passing on one of the greatest beat-em-ups ever made, Guardian Heroes. Fortunately, the portable world now has its own equivalent to that classic, and that game is Code of Princess. The premise of Code of Princess ...

  • Old school beat' em up!

Just as the title says, old school beat'em up. Awesome game with tons (!) of characters to unlock and use for versus and story mode.

  • Great visuals, nice combo of rpg and hack-and-slash

Pretty cool under-the-radar title from Atlus, my only issue was I couldn't figure out how to move up and down at first, you need to hold L or R and then press up or down, a bit different but not bad once you get the feel for it.

  • Code of Princess Rocks!

A great beat up up style side scroller with RPG elements. Good for folks that are into arcade style brawlers, think TMNT and Dragons Crown
