    Great Read-Aloud

    This is a great read-aloud book for children. As an adult, I enjoyed it too. It is a simple tale, but the characters are so original that you feel as if they are friends. I recommend this book.

    The Penderwicks are great!

    This story should become a children's classic, although this adult found it entertaining and enjoyable. The characters are interesting and the story combines humor and realism that keeps you reading. I especially enjoyed the absence of any objectionable language, sexual innuendo or violence. I hope Jeanne Birdsall will keep on writing more books about this lovable family.
