Synopsis
It takes a truly great storyteller to make an old story as fresh and compelling as the first time it was told. In The Winter King, Bernard Cornwell, who has been called one of the most accomplished and stylish storytellers now writing (Kirkus Reviews), tells the tale he was meant to tell: the mythic saga of King Arthur. Powerful and dramatic.--Sharon Kay Penman.

Thanks so much! Another great item from one of my favorite sellers. Item just as described and arrived in perfect condition. US Games decks always packaged in nice and attractive sturdy boxes, not flimsy throw aways. Thanks so much WOB for offering gently used books, decks, etc., at such a great value. To find gently used items looking for a new home is one of my ways, not only to save money, but to recycle. Appreciate this seller very much :)

  • I was sorely disappointed in the content of the book.

Bernard Cornwell is a marvelous story teller. I have read all of his Waterloo books and all of the Sharpe's novels. They are so much fun that I read them when I don't have anything else to read. Too much ignorance and too much superstition. That's fine for people of that era but to me, it is boring. I would rather have the fantasy. Or Sir Thomas Malory's "The Romance of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table." Bernard Cornwell's novel is well written but boring. I apologize for belaboring the point. I would send my copy to anyone who wants to read it but I cannot. It has gone the way of the hairy white buffalo: the recycle bin. I seldom throw ...
