Tropical Country Music
The truth is .... I'm not a fan of Country Music. But, I love Jimmy Buffett, especially the early stuff which is ... well, more like country, than his newer songs (which I also love!). Kenny Chesney has brought me a new plain (plane?) of music with his words and voice that takes me back where I would long to be .. in the caribbean with time spent doing nothing much and all day to do it. This CD has songs co-sung with Geo. Strait, Willie Nelson, even Dave Matthews is on the 1st track "I'm Alive." The 2nd CD with this set ... isn't my favorite. I'm not much of a live music CD lover. But the 1st CD is great. Clear concise lyrics, great voice, and good melodies make this one of my [new] favorite CD's to listen to while driving around or @work. I first heard Kenny's music on Pandora Radio (the internet radio) on my station titled "Jimmy Buffett." I'd hear his songs interchanged between Jimmy Buffett and many other similar artists, and one day I said, "I've got to get one of his CD's." This is the best one IMHO. I've got 3 of his, but this one really speaks to the soul. For some, it may not be the "Country Sound" they are looking for, but country music isn't really country anymore. I'm not much a fan of the new stuff, but this one is an exception for me. Way to go Kenny! Keep on Playin' and Singin'. :

Kenny does it again
I was wandering if Kenny would make a return to his island/rock/country/blues style that was so memorizing in "Songs From An Old Blue Chair". This is probably my favorite album of his yet, I'm glad he departed from the poppy country music he made in The Road and the Radio and Poets & Pirates. "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" is an excellent remake of George Strait's version. The rest of the album is mixes up the slow and contemplative with energetic and happy, which is why I like it. His music is inspired by reggae, and it ebs and flows like the ocean waves. His "10 with a 2" track sounded more fitting to the party sounds of Poets and Pirates, but it's still upbeat. I joined ebay to get Kenny Chesney stuff I can't get thru the fan club & cheaper prices on xtras. Love this man like no other. He is the #1 entertainer. The Be as U R album was my favorite, but this is definitely his best work yet. I now have 2 copies cause I wore out the first one. I can listen to it all day long & never tire of it. The album is so relaxing & soothing. It speaks volumes to me. Love his voice as always. The faster ones R cute & upbeat. As fantastic as ever.
How can you not love this CD? It’s a little slower than a lot of Kenny Chesney's previous music. You can tell it has been mostly written on the islands. Can't wait to hear this cd in the summer, with the waves lapping at my feet. Heaven!!! Looking forward to this years tour…

Kennys latest effort review
Great CD with A great price as always from E-bay. Kenny shines as A stripped down version of his studio efforts comes through loud and clear. I really like the reggae feel and the island vibe of this album. The acoustic tracks are crisp and very tight. The Whalers are A great match for Kenny his style blends perfectly with there familiar Jamaican sound. I give this CD an A- it hits the mark.
