About this product

Product Information

In this Ralph Compton western, a man with the courage to take a stand goes up against an outlaw cavalry that can't be stopped.... In Mexico, Wes Stone picked up his father's gun, rode his father's horse, and took on his father's enemies. In California, he planted a band of savage criminals in the ground. Now Stone is heading up to the plains of Colorado, where a new kind of war has begun. A dangerous band of mercenaries is going for the gold-enough to bankrupt the entire country. Their scheme- to raid four U.S. mints. Their weapon- an armored train tearing through the West like a fire-powered battle-ax on wheels. From Durango to Dodge City, across a rugged land stained with blood, gold, and treachery, Stone follows a violent trail of honor. All that stands between victory and death is a quick-draw reflex-and the kind of .44-caliber justice that could tame the West and turn Stone into a legend. • Train to Durango

This is a great title by Ralph Compton. Anyone that enjoyed his Killing Season titles about the adventures of Nathan Stone would enjoy this as well. Its a must read for me as I have all of the others so I had to get this one as well. Very good read, worth the gamble if you are not used to these type of stories as well.

  • Good Book

If you like good western books, this is one you should consider getting. The story is well written. Compton tells a compelling story of the old west that is always refreshing to read...even the 2nd or 3rd time. Pick up some of his other books too, they are always a good read.

  • great book

this is a great book about the old west.i would recommend this book to anyone who likes westerns.Ralph Compton does a very good job in his writing about the gunfighting days in the old west
