    The Bell is the soul of the Ship.

    I have many books on the Great Lakes and this book is a standout of the lore and maritime tradition of the sailors who serve on the great ships. While the Fitz lies in the "Ice water Mansion" of Superior the memory of those those that went down with her and the many other shipwrecks will not be forgotten.

    moving

    Brought back the memory of the sinking of the Fitzgerald, had a profound affect when I was younger. Beautifully illustrated, well written and poetic, gave one the sense of being there. Put faces to the lost crew. Lots of memories of watching the boats on the Great Lakes.
