Reviews
The fourth and penultimate volume of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is the best one yet. Here, 14-year-old demigod Percy must find a way to thwart Kronos's plan to reassemble his body and rally the evil forces of the underworld. Percy, quest-partner Annabeth and mortal Rachel Elizabeth Dare enter the Labyrinth and encounter all manner of wondrous beings: the vampiric empousai, snaky dracaenae, Laistrygonian giants, Calypso, the Sphinx, a Hundred-Handed One, Hephaestus, Daedalus and Kronos himself, newly transformed. Riordan keeps Percy busy falling in love with Calypso, battling evil Antaeus, causing Mount St. Helens to erupt and finding the long-lost god Pan in a crystal cave in this romp that rivals Rowling for inventive, magical storytelling. The often-philosophical tale zips along with snappy dialogue, humor and thrilling action, culminating in a climactic battle between gods and Titans. This volume can stand alone, but no reader will be able to read just one. Look no further for the next Harry Potter; meet Percy Jackson, as legions of fans already have.-- Kirkus

    Fantastic Series!

Couldn't put it down! I love how the author writes. Can't believe it's taken me this long to read these books. Looking forward to moving on the the next set by Riordan!

  • Down the rabbit hole....er Labyrinth

I LOVED all of previous Percy Jackson books. However, I felt something was missing from this one. Don't get me wrong, my son and I still had to read it as quickly as possible, but as a previous reviewer noted, it was just missing the little extra "magic" that the previous books had. It had a little less humor, and basically running around in the labrynth got a little old after several chapters. I felt like the great story was here, maybe the author was just a little rushed to make a deadline and didnt get to "spit and polish" all the wonderful little details that made the other books so much fun. That being said, the last chapter of the book is fantastic, and opens the door for a very interesting team up for Percy in the next book. We can't wait for the rest of this series.

  • The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson)

Used but book in good condition. Print type is in a large enough size which makes it easy to read. Story keeps one captivated till the end.

  • Fun for the whole family!

My nephew got me into this series, and now the whole family enjoys it and we can talk about it with the kids. The story line is very fun, with few dull spots, and is full of twists and turns. Every time you think you understand what's going on, something will surprise you. The short chapters and several elements of the books are obviously made for younger readers, but all ages will be entertained, and learn a few Greek and Roman myths along the way.

  • Percy Jackson:The Battle of the Labyrinth

I bought this book for my two boys ages 12 and 10. This is the 4th book in the Percy Jackson series. They have loved every book so far, but they like this one the best. My kids say this book is great and they can't wait for the next one. I have read the 1st 3 books and I enjoyed them very much also. I have always been a fan of mythology and now so are my kids.
