WORTHLESS PIECE of GARBAGE
Purchased this for my granddaughter for a gift as she was going to Hawaii and wanted her own camera to capture all the special moments and be able to use the SD card to share them with her friends when she returned. They were never able to get this crappy camera to work the entire trip and she was very upset about it causing her vacation to be ruined. I know it was inexpensive but being a known brand like Vivitar I thought it would be somewhat dependable...but don't waste your money and have it ruin your special moment too... it never even took one pic and ended up in the garbage! Complete Piece of Junk,..Not even worth Opening The Package.
Even with the cheap price in mind, this camera is a piece of junk. I think there may be good ones as some reviews suggest. Just not consistent in quality when manufactured. Mine didn't take pictures anywhere close to a 5 megapixel quality. My cheap outdated flip phone takes better pictures. Video quality was also terrible and NOT anywhere close to HD. Battery life is SOOO bad,..records maybe 5 minutes in it's crappy HD format and then shuts off. Get maybe 8 minutes in 640. People say it's worth the cheap price tag,..but it's really not,..if you can't make ANY use of it,..how can it be worth anything at all. The 5 to 15 min battery life make this camera nearly useless.
The picture on this camera is amazing, and it is so incredibly simple to use and aim thanks to the tiny touch screen. However, even on a full charge the camera cannot record more than two 5 min clips. We tried several time over our 27 day Colorado trip to get this thing to work, but every time the battery was gone in 5-15 min. I do not recommend this camera to anyone for any reason, unfortunately the battery life kills an otherwise remarkable camera.The picture on this camera is amazing, and it is so incredibly simple to use and aim thanks to the tiny touch screen. Do your homework.
I ordered this camera without doing my homework. Sent it to my 6 year old granddaughter for her b'day. She got so excited when she saw the camera that she destroyed the 'original' packaging... which makes it non-returnable. It would not take a charge... and would only work while plugged into the charger. Do your homework. Check the online ratings of all electronics first. Lesson learned.
