A different look at the David and Goliath story!
An interesting interpretation of the David and Goliath story. This series ends to soon to pay off the world building the show runner spend building in the opening 4 episodes. This series would runner longer on a streaming platform or cable network. It’s worth your time to take a look if you enjoy reinterpretation of Biblical narratives. It does not follow it strictly word for word. Rather it uses it as a guideline. An interesting interpretation of the David and Goliath story. “Kings” shows viewers what the world would be like today had the United States been a monarchy. The shows young hero David Shepherd is played by Chris Egan (Eragon) who is a soldier serving for King Silas Benjamin (Ian McShane) in the kingdom of Gilboa. When he saves a prisoner of war who turns out to be the Kings son, Jack Benjamin (Sebastian Stan) his life changes drastically. The royal family crowns him a hero and promotes him. Shepherd is thrown into the world of politics, corruption, sex and power. He meets the Kings elegant and intelligent daughter Michelle Benjamin (Allison Miller) and their forbidden lust for each other stirs the royal family. “Kings” is a sexy new show full of twists and action for mature viewers with a great concept and cast. Great series that was cancelled way too soon! Shakespeare's drama with a biblical twist set in modern times. Just a great drama to watch.
