About this product

Product Information

Dark Sector is a futuristic shooter starring a character infected by a biological virus, imbuing him with mysterious powers. Black-ops soldier Hayden Tenno contracted the disease while on a covert mission to the fictitious Eastern European country of Lasria. Hayden's left arm has since mutated into something not quite human. Attached to this abnormal appendage is a three-blade glaive that can be charged and thrown at enemies or objects like a boomerang. Stunned enemies can then be finished off with well-aimed gunshots, or sliced open by using the glaive as a melee weapon. As Hayden struggles to find a way out of his predicament, the virus will gradually take over his body, granting him new abilities along the way. The action in Dark Sector is viewed from a third-person perspective set behind the lead protagonist's shoulder, with the screen free from heads-up displays in an attempt to draw players closer into the gritty, violent world. Xbox Live support is also included for ten-player online competition.

    The reason warframe exists

This game is pretty much the reason we got warframe even though they are severely in terms of, well, everything. Dark sector is more of a horror themed shooter while its futuristic sequel is a class based shooter. the glaive was introduced in this game and when used correctly, can be a life saver. don't expect a lenghty game here. the game has 9 chapters and they can go by pretty quickly depending on how fast you move through them. there isn't much variety in enemy types and the bosses aren't anything to go crazy about. all in all though, the game is an enjoyable experience. the only collectibles are weapon upgrades so don't expect any back story and good luck figuring out the story cause it isn't really explained that much. this is more for those who just want to shoot things and have fun ...

  • Short but Sweet Campaign, Mediocre Online Play

Dark Sector seemed like a very promising game. Taking the cover system of Gears of War and tying it into the third person shooting style of Resident Evil 4, it was almost as if there was little room for error for such a game. However, the cover system did not always work well. A lot of times it left you still exposed to enemy fire which becomes a pain on brutal mode when just a few shots and you're dead. The shooting aspect of the game is good though. The guns perform well although there are only a few that can be used in the game which is disappointing. I suppose the main weapon here is the triple-bladed boomerang-like glaive. This weapon can severely dismember an enemy in a single throw and you can receive power-ups for it throughout the game. Revolving the game mostly around the glaive ...

  • Dark Sector Review

Dark Sector is a fun game in the likes of Gears of War. The control scheme is almost exactly the same so if you had played Gears as I had before getting into Dark Sector then you'll have no problems at all switching over. The action is good - the glaive is quite fun to use - and the story moves along at an even pace. As you progress through the game your character gains additional powers that help even out the playing field, and keep things fresh. Some might say that the use of the glaive is over done but I honestly never really tired of using it. There was definitely a certain feeling of satisfaction from getting a curved head kill using the blade - especially if you curved it around a corner or such to kill an enemy hiding behind cover. That said the controls are very fluid. ...

  • DARK SECTOR REVIEW...

Overview Take the idea of a mutating virus out of Resident Evil, the graphics and controls from Gears of War and use the idea of The Glaive from the movie Krull and you've got Dark Sector. While on a mission CIA Agent Hayden Tenno becomes infected with a devastating virus that warps a person's body and normally drives them mad from the pain. However, because he was born with a condition rendering him unable to feel pain he is unaffected by the madness and is able to use the abilities gained from the virus. Gameplay If you've ever played Gears of War, from the onset of the game you will immediately be able to see and feel striking similarities. Whether it is the roadie run, attaching yourself to cover, vaulting over obstacles, firing from behind cover or the ability to heal by staying ...

  • Dark Sector Review

I decided to buy this game because I read that it was very similar to Gears and Resident Evil 4 so it has to be good. After finishing the game, the PROS and CONS are: PROS: Great Visuals on par with GoW in my opinion with the exception of the protagonist's head (ugly as hell) but you wont notice it when he gets his mask. Sound is awesome, I played it on a Stereo TV and it sounded like it was surround sound, imagine it with a home theater system. The action is exactly (copy?) like Gears of War. Greatest thing about this game is the blade that you throw to chop enemies limbs/head off. CONS: Story isn't well explained, you will have to assume most of it. Online mode is addictive, original, but not well polished. I like it but could've been a lot better. Booklet that comes with the game ...
