    Dated, though still useful

    This device allows several models of APC UPSs to connect to a network. This is useful for shutting down multiple servers connected to the same UPS. The bundle also includes a temperature sensor, with a generous cord. The LAN port is standard 10/100 Ethernet. It has HTTP, Telnet, SSH and even HTTPS. It even has a WAP compatible server. The onboard modem connects to a phone line and acts as a dialin server (for shutting down and restarting the UPS, even if the LAN is down), and to dial out... but it can only send Pager messages. There is no option for a GPRS modem for SMS notifications. It has two input contacts, and a relay output. I used the input contact with my house alarm: when the siren sounds, the input is triggered and the UPS will send me an e-mail. The output can be turned on ...
