I bought this book because Robert Thurman has great insights into Buddhism. He knows how to bring the point home to Westerners in a meaningful way. This book is a translation of actual Tibetan texts. Though informative and interesting, it is much like slogging through the Old Testament when reading it. One needs to be very rested and not likely to fall asleep when reading it because it takes concentration to follow it. I would not say this is not a good book. It is interesting, it's just difficult to follow and I think focused more towards academe.
