Product Information

In Touch Mechanic, Nintendo DS players use the stylus and touch screen to repair and modify cars. On the screen, the stylus can become a screwdriver, wrench, saw, or sander -- whatever tool is right for the job at hand. Each tool must be used properly for best results, challenging virtual grease monkeys to use care and develop expertise. Players begin in a small, old garage, under the instruction of a rather large, old mechanic named Captain Bob, who helps them learn the basics of the game. They'll learn to change wheels, replace shocks and brakes, repair bumpers, and add aftermarket enhancements. The virtual mechanics' jobs become more difficult as they make their way through the game's 75-episode campaign. Cars are displayed in full 3D and may be rotated to view at any angle. Like most mechanics, players will also work to soup up their personal ride, with the parts, paint, and tuning they like best. If enough people are favorably impressed with the player's own custom car, it can lead to a nicer job at a better-equipped garage.
