Why buy the classic version of Pippi Longstocking?
I grew up with the american version of Pippi Longstocking. It was a classic when I was young and used to watch it ever time is ran on TV. I looked for the DVD set to come out for years in the stores and never came across it. I have 4 daughters that I would tell about the Pippi I watched when I was their age. I decided to search for it on the internet and came across it on ebay. So I baught it. Even though the series originally ran over seas and they had to incorporate the English language into the movie and the lips don't match the words it is still a long time favorite of mine. I wanted my girls to have the opportunity to expierence the classic we all loved when we were kids. When I tell people that I bought the set I am amazed as to how many people remember the series. ... I grew up with the american version of Pippi Longstocking. It was a classic when I was young and used to watch it ever time is ran on TV. So now they get to watch it when ever and wherever. It still makes me laugh and keeps me watching.

Pippi Longstocking Collection on DVD
Growing up with my little brother I remember watching this little girl with firey red hair who's ponytails stuck straight out and who could beat up men, had a monkey and a spotted horse....not to mention a huge bag of gold coins, and had all sorts of crazy missadventures with her two friends Tommy and Annika. (When I was a kid I had a crush on Annika.) Well just wanted to say that these movies were a glimpse back to my childhood and what a great collection they are. These videos were NOT found anywhere and I have been searching for YEARS. My niece is 25 years old and my nephew 24 years old and I had the 2 kids every weekend growing up and had to rent the VHS tapes from the library every weekend, unless they were (GASP)checked out by someone else. I couldn't wait to give the Collection to them and now they love it so much, but fight about who gets to have which two videos, I am FORCED to purchase another set. I am so personally pleased that our happy times together watching these innocuous kiddie flicks had a profound and happy impression on them in their adult lives with their own children reaching an age to enjoy the same shows. Pippy Longstocking rocks!
My family absolutely loves the Pippy Longstocking Series. I grew up watching these movies when I was young and wanted to share them with my four children (ranging in age from 13 to 6), so I bought the collection. So many wonderful memories were brought back. Now, I can't get my children to stop watching them. Pippy epitimizes how every child wishes they could be (strong, no school, free spirited), but at the same time demonstrates what a giving person is like. She does so many crazy things that leave my children in astonishment. My six-year-old walks around the house singing the theme song, "I am Pippy Longstocking, if you say my name, it's funny. Pippy, Pippy Longstocking, how I love my happy name." Each movie actually has different wording for the theme song & ... My family absolutely loves the Pippy Longstocking Series.
